Well, we managed to make it back home about 5:00 pm yesterday. We left Osceola IA around 8:00 AM and the first 100 miles were great even though windy. The further north we got there were several semis, cars, trucks, trailers etc. in the ditches, some being pulled out as we went by. The wind was fierce, to say the least. Once we got on I90 heading due east the wind was behind us and it was smooth sailing for the most part. In some places the wind was blowing snow across the road but it could have been worse. Monday night while still in Osceola we drained what little water we had left and blew out the lines and dumped the holding tanks so nothing would freeze because it was so cold, Now, this morning, Wednesday we had -2 degrees and this is what it looked like when we drove in last evening. We have snowbanks around the driveway that are at least 6 feet high. It is definitely NOT spring yet!!
This blogs sole purpose has transitioned to one of keeping in touch with each other. Over the years it has been primarily for letting everyone know what is happening and also for promotion to add more folks to our Winter Texan family. The core of things has changed and we must change along with it. We still want to know what is happening with our friends no matter where they may be located. So continue to let us know where you are and what is on your plate.
