New Season Starting

Well today was the start of the new season for church at Magnolia....It seems like a long time since we had church here or maybe it's just been a long summer....Either way today was a great start....Pastor Stacey just got back from visiting his father back east earlier in the week as he was having some medical problems, but was doing much better now...He still needs prayer for continued strength in recovering...

We had  a small number in church today but everyone was happy to see and talk to each other about the past summer and to hear Pastor Stacey bring the Word of God to Magnolia Park again....We had services in the little hall today , but next week we're set to go the the big hall again...It seems as the NORTHERN family is coming in slowly but surely as the weather gets colder up north and we are happy to see them coming in...

The lesson today was on the theme of "Give Glory to God" with the lesson coming from the Book of John, Chapter three, starting from verse 22....It tells how John the Baptist wouldn't take any credit for himself, but gave all the Glory to God for all things...He only said that he wasn't the Christ but he was sent before him....This was a great lesson that teaches us that we shouldn't exalt ourselves but always give God the Glory in all things...Remember to continue to pray for anyone that comes to mind and each other for we all need prayer at some time...Remember those on the road in your prayers also....See you in church next week....GOD BLESS ALL....

Homemade Velvetta from Kay Voss

I made "homemade Velvetta" this AM.  Tastes very good!  Recipe
folows--I found it on the internet.  You may ask why I made it--we try
to stay away from as many chemicals in our food as we can, and
Velvetta is loaded with unhealthy stuff!  We are going to have grilled
sandwiches on fresh homemade bread  with homemade tomato soup for
lunch!!  Kay  PS  We woke up to SNOW this morning...uck

Recipe:
12 oz of shredded Colby Jack cheese
1 TBLS powdered milk
1/2 tsp salt
1/8 tsp cream of tartar
1/2 cup plus 2 TBLS hot milk
1 TBLS water and 1 1/2 teas of unflavored gelatin  -- soak first

Blend all this until smooth, put in plastic wrapped pan

I used a blender--kinda messy to remove, a food processer would be better.

Romancing the wind

Plan on visiting the kite festival on South Padre. It usually happens late January or early February. We will  find the date and post it a little closer to the time.
In the meantime here is a taste of what you might see.
