2015 Ropa Style Show- Part 1

The Ropa Style Show is an annual event at Magnolia Park. Ropa Usada is Spanish for used clothing and there are many warehouse buildings throughout the Rio Grande Valley that are open for business. In these places you can sort through discarded clothing, make choices and pay pennies a pound for your finds. There are several people in the park who make regular excursions to these places picking up a wide variety of treasures. So all of the models you see in the pictures are wearing items found in these "stores". The annual show started off with songs by the Choraliers.
Phyllis Branstetter gave a reading about losing her seat in church.
Our first model was Peggy Gordon modeling an oriental robe.

Next is Lucy Urius who stated her outfit is what she would wear in an Iowa winter.

Pat Hahn shows us a warm cozy robe and stylish pajamas
Another kimono is shown by Geneva...
 covering a very practical nightgown.
Page Auerbach visiting her grandparents Dave and Sue Greening modeled a very pretty nightgown and some stylish cowboy boots.
Char Wolfrom entertained us while the next set of models prepared themselves.
Pat Kent entertains us too.
Dorothy Wendt introduces the next group of models
Shirley Benner found a colorful top to go with her beige slacks.
Judy Lowary wears a denim dress over her peach colored blouse.
Wilma found this classy and conservative additions to her wardrobe.
