Yesterday was warm, humid, rainy and dark. Low scudding clouds that dumped inches of rain at a time were a common occurence throughout the day. I tried to get a walk in but carrying the umbrella and trying to stay dry was a tricky combination so I gave it up. As I was walking back home I thought "This feels and looks like tornado weather in the midwest summertime" and sure enough the tv blasted reports of possible tornadoes. I do not believe there were any but the conditions were ripe for them. Later in the day the cold front finally made it and the temperature dropped like a rock. There was a 20 degree difference from one end of the valley to the other in a matter of minutes. From 72 to 52 degrees.
It was two years ago that the valley enjoyed an unprecedented snowstorm and it is fondly remembered by the locals. Last year, I remember, Christmas day we took a dip in the pool and played shuffleboard in the afternoon. This time of year can bring a wide fluctuation in weather. Later it will go to warm and then followed by hot.
Today is a cool one with the current temp at 51 and probably not a lot of change from that for a day or two. It will allow everyone to wear their Christmas sweaters without breaking a sweat and to curl up with a good book while we enjoy our version of winter weather and contemplate our memories of Christmas past.
Merry Christmas, Ya'all!!!
Till next time...

This blogs sole purpose has transitioned to one of keeping in touch with each other. Over the years it has been primarily for letting everyone know what is happening and also for promotion to add more folks to our Winter Texan family. The core of things has changed and we must change along with it. We still want to know what is happening with our friends no matter where they may be located. So continue to let us know where you are and what is on your plate.
