This was a beautiful day in deep south Texas and a great day to come to the services at Magnolia to hear the Word of God being taught... Our attendance has been great as the season has progressed with the arrival of the last holdouts of the cold north land.... All I can say is I know that as cool or if we must say that it has been, it's a lot warmer here than up NORTH...
Pastor Stacey brought the message today with the continuation of the teaching from the Book of John, Chapter 6, Verse 60 thru Verse 70 with the theme of "Don't turn back"....This tells of how Jesus and his teaching of the bread of life to all of the disciples or in other words the people that were following him, not just the 12 disciples...Many of his followers said that the teaching was a hard teaching and wondered who can accept it...Jesus ask them if this teaching offended them....He then told them of the Spirit that gives life thru the words that he has spoken to them as the Words were full of the Spirit and life.....Many of his disciples or followers turned back and no longer followed him...Jesus then said to the 12 disciples "You do not want to leave too, do you?"....This is a great teaching to study....If we are believers and have faith in God, we should never turn back to the ways that we had in the past...This whole Chapter should have great meaning for all of us and will be a great teaching if we will just study the Word and pray for understanding...
Remember to continue to pray for all the sick that you hear of and for any on the road...Don't forget to pray for each other for prayer is a great comfort and power....God Bless All......See you in church next week....
This blogs sole purpose has transitioned to one of keeping in touch with each other. Over the years it has been primarily for letting everyone know what is happening and also for promotion to add more folks to our Winter Texan family. The core of things has changed and we must change along with it. We still want to know what is happening with our friends no matter where they may be located. So continue to let us know where you are and what is on your plate.
