This blogs sole purpose has transitioned to one of keeping in touch with each other. Over the years it has been primarily for letting everyone know what is happening and also for promotion to add more folks to our Winter Texan family. The core of things has changed and we must change along with it. We still want to know what is happening with our friends no matter where they may be located. The Ropa Usada Experience. Ropa Usada (Translation-used clothing) is a unique south Texas experience. I liken it to a treasure hunt. There are several ropa usada places on south 23rd street in McAllen Tx. Tres Dimensiones is a favorite spot for many winter Texans and where we went this afternoon. There is mountain of clothes in the middle of the room. The routine includes climbing the mountain settling in and digging through the clothes. You are sure to find something that pleases and surprises you. After all of your treasures are gathered you take them to the clerk to be weighed and then pay your 20 cents a pound. Not a bad way to spend an afternoon!
