Ray with his laptop

I thought there may be others who would find Rays setup with his laptop interesting and know someone who would appreciate knowing about it. I have asked him for details and I am sure he will get back to me.

Laptop Stand

This is from friend Ray Thompson:
"I purchased a gadget awhile back that I can use with the Laptop while sitting in an easy chair or lying in bed to keep the weight of the Laptop off of me. The Laptop only weighs about 5 pounds, but that gets heavy over time."

Son Gary of Lee's Summit MO sent me this link to local SNOWART. We have nothing better to do since it is raining here and has been ALL day than look at some very creative snow art that folks have created around the KC MO area. So enjoy! I did. Click on SNOWART and away you should go to the link. If things do not happen as they should please let me know.

New directory

The pages of the new park directory are back from the printer. Now they will be put together and stapled. Bring your money with you next Tuesday morning at Coffee so you can purchase a copy or two.
On this same subject I will be once again taking pictures for next years directory. Some of the pictures used in this one are two or more years old already. Time Flies!!

Today's project was a cross made from beads. The finished project looked very crystal like.

Crafts Monday @ 1:00

Monday is for crafts in Allen Hall. The project of the week is mentioned at Coffee hour on Tuesday so you can plan ahead if it is of interest to you. But even if you do not have an interest in the project of the week you can bring your own project or come for the social part and see what others are working on. Corner Talk

The sun did shine on Sunday and most people came outside and went for a walk,
gathered on street corners for conversation and in other ways thoroughly
enjoyed our respite from dark, damp and dreary.

Whine, Whine, Whine

Today for the first time in nearly two weeks the sun shone and the temperature rose. It seems there is a winter weather lottery for Florida,Texas and Arizona and Florida wins this year. We were the winners last year.
Our weather has been cool and damp...and we do not like it. Yes it is better than what's up north but it is far from what we are used to enjoying.
The plus side of it is that I have been working on getting the directory for the park done with pictures and it is taking more time than I counted on. With the weather being icky staying indoors and working on it has not been much of a hardship. So I have been less torn. But now...I am all but finished with the directory and ready to move on to other things.

Deeply Freezing...

For all of us down here that are used to having the windows open , folks visiting on every street corner, outdoor activities of swimming, shuffleboard, golf, and horseshoes this weather is a big shock to our systems. I think the high temp today was 45 and the low was 33 or 34 last night . I only ventured out one time and I wore my winter coat, gloves and cap. My frog planter with my lemon thyme plant is stuck under the motorhome in the hopes that Jack Frost will leave it alone.

The Jam was jammin'!!

We are sharing the deep freeze with the rest of the country so it was a good day to enjoy the jam in Allen Hall on Tuesday.

Below Charlie and Edna are ready for that toe tappin' music.

How many of me

Friend Sandy in SW Iowa sent me this interesting website.

HOW MANY OF ME?

At... http://www.howmanyofme.com/
You enter a first and/or last name and it will tell you how many people in the USA have that first name, the last name, and how many have that combination of your first and last name. So if you enter "Jane Doe," it will tell you that there are 374,961 people with thename "Jane," 17,988, with the last name "Doe," and 22 with the name "Jane Doe"(yes, really!).It will also tell you how popular the name is, as in "the 149th most popular name," and whether it is more likely to be given to males or females (the first name).

Sidewalk Kitty

Some unknown solution bleached out
the sidewalk in front of our home.
I noticed today it looks like a cat!
I like it...Now.

Tom is clearly the laziest dog in the park.
Kitti either has to carry him home or take him
home on the trike.

Comments from Barb

Great pictures of the action in the pool hall. Thanks Don. I have been working on the new park directory. It will have pictures this year but they will be in black and white. Too costly for color. I am still gathering pictures of people in the park whenever I can. Unfortunately there will be some missing pictures. Pages 1 and 2 are completed and I need the updated info several kind helpers are gathering for me before I can proceed much further. If you are certain that I have not taken your picture please speak up. It only takes a few seconds of your time and mine and it will make the directory much more complete.
Today looks like a "weather " day. (rain) It almost feels like a day off for me when the weather forces a change of planned activity. There is so much to do here that we are forced to make choices. There are not enough days in the week to participate in everything offered.
It is fun having everything in high gear now that a good many northerners have arrived. I am not sure us old codgers could take this pace all year!!

Pool is getting hot and heavy again in Blue Hall

Well the In Park Mixed Pool League has started up again for the year and the folks are having a good time shooting pool and ribbing one an other about the games.. We have 40 people signed up to play and several more that will sub if needed.. That gives us 20 teams to compete against each other for the next few weeks every Thursday night.. We also have several people that come just to watch and others to play cards during the tournament, so the Blue Hall has a lot of business going on for sure.. We have a few new people in the crowd and am missing some of the people that for one reason or another didn't come down this year, to them we miss you and wish you well.....

Watch out Butch is in the candy again
