Over the years it has been primarily for letting everyone know what is happening and also for promotion to add more folks to our Winter Texan family. The core of things has changed and we must change along with it. We still want to know what is happening with our friends no matter where they may be located. So continue to let us know where you are and what is on your plate.

Tex-Mex Cheese Soup
A friend of mine sent me a recipe for Tex-Mex Cheese Soup. With cold temperatures in our future I thought I would plan on this warm and yummy sounding recipe. And I am sharing it with you!

Link of the day
I sent the post below as an email and everyone in the group with an AOL address was rejected. I do not pick and sort when I send a link of the day. You are either in or out of the group. Far too time consuming the other way...At any rate the message below this one is what was rejected and it really is a neat site with great music so ENJOY!!
Music site
Link of the Day
Tropical Glen http://tropicalglen.com/ Well, from the title of the site, I certainly didn't expect music, but that's what I got and in spades! Here you will find 100 years worth of popular music. How does it work? Well, let's dig right in. To listen to music, you can either select a year or scroll down and browse through the featured artist collections. You can check out the category selections as well. So, here are your options, broken down a little bit. Yearly - Select a year to hear popular music from that year. For example, if you click 1955, you are going hear the sound styles that were popular back then. The yearly selection goes from 1955 to 1979. Featured Artist Archive - While I was there, Elvis Presley was the featured artist on the main page, but to find past featured artists, check out this section. It will provide you with a listing of artists to choose from and to listen to. Additional Collections - This is where you will find categories of music you can listen to, like Show Tunes, Classical, Movie Themes and many more. The jukebox will open in another window once you've selected which playlist you want to hear. You can leave it play in the background while you get your work done on the computer, while you shop or just while you browse. I'm always looking for more ways to listen to music and I really enjoyed this one. I hope you will too! http://tropicalglen.com/

New Look
Well, do you like the new look? I have been experimenting with this and that while trying to get pictures to post. I finally was able to post the camera picture. Now if I can get the darn thing to hold my password we might be back to normal. I thought it could be a little easier to read with this new look. Feedback please?
Sunny? South Texas
You can tell when I have more indoor time. The weather for here is less than we like but still okay. We will be going for a walk in a few minutes but at 54 degrees I will be wearing my coat.
I can post to the blog if I stick with text. I plan to give them more time to get their problems fixed but nothing seems to happen quickly. so...
Till next time...

Trouble with Blog
I am having difficulty getting pictures posted to the blog. You can believe that I am diligently working on it. Blogger.com has made changes to their website and the way posts, pictures etc. are managed and so far it is a miserable failure for me and I am sure many others. I will put pictures on webshots in the meantime and hope Blogger can get things working. If not I will look into blogging from a different website. So click on the word WEBSHOTS and hopefully that part of Blogger will work.

New Years Eve
Butch and I have a tradition of going for a walk at midnight on New Years Eve. It is an almost unbelievable sight with high dollar fireworks going off in all four directions around the park. Last night the air was so still that the smoke from the fireworks hung in the air. At first we thought it might be fog but the smell of sulphur soon told us it was smoke. The combination of fireworks, smoke and sound is a unique experience.
New Years Eve
New Years Eve fun in Allen Hall found a group of residents ready to have some fun and help each other stay awake to bring in the new year.
