Donald E. "Donnie" Brenn, age 81, of Mondovi, WI died May 21, 2013 at Mayo Health Luther Hospital in Eau Claire, WI.

Donnie was born at home on April 3, 1932 to Elmer and Minnie (Olufson) Brenn. He grew up on the family farm and after graduating from Mondovi High School in 1950 he went off to serve his country, enlisting in the Army. He returned to the family farmstead and continued to farm with his father. He enjoyed many days of fishing and hunting, taking many trips to Canada and out west to hunt elk. On January 27, 1979 he married Patricia (Garland) Olson at Central Lutheran Church in Mondovi. To this union Patricia brought her two young sons Jeffrey and Joseph. They both continued farming on the family farm for many years. Donnie and Pat spent many memorable days fishing and camping together, especially when they moved to Birchwood, WI after retiring from farming in 1998. They did enjoy though, their winter get away in Donna, TX. In 2011 they moved back to Mondovi. Donnie was a proud member of the American Legion, Post 154 and a lifetime parishioner of Central Lutheran Church. Donnie will be remembered as a very caring, fatherly man, endearing to his family. He was a jokester, known to them as "chief", making them laugh and always lending a helping hand when needed. He had a profound compassion for animals, taking great care of his cattle, down to the special bond he had with his cat, "Rooster".

Donnie will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 34 years, Pat; his step-sons, Jeffrey (Mary Ann) Olson of Mondovi and Joseph (Lisa) Olson of Ellsworth. His grandchildren, Brandon Olson, Bronson Olson, Katie Olson, and Nick Olson. Also by his great-grandchildren, Madisyn Olson, and Cowen Olson; and nephew, Jeffrey Anderson.

Donnie was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lois Anderson; nephew, Bradley Anderson; and special friend, Richard Urness.

A visitation will be at Talbot Family Funeral Homes in Mondovi on Friday May 24 at 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Funeral service will be at Central Lutheran Church in Mondovi on Saturday May 25 at 11:00 a.m. with an hour of visitation prior. Burial will follow at Riverside Lutheran Cemetery in Mondovi.
