Some pictures from the Storm

Sorry folks that I haven't gotten any pictures on the blog of the storm , but we were out of town on a mini vacation.. Just got back yesterday and took a few pictures to put on the blog..... There is a lot of small damage in the park to many trailers and didn't take pictures of most of them....If any one wants me to take pictures of their place or know if there was damage to it . just let me know by phone or E-mail and I will try to help you out...It is going to take a while just to clean up all the material that got blown around....And now that the rain has done it's job, the grass is growing like mad...From the looks of things and from hearing from the folks that stayed here it's a good thing we weren't here or you either.. HA HA....I know that some of the worse part was being without power for a period of time, it being so hot and all....Count your selves bless because you aren't here to work outside, cause the mosquitoes are out in force...Will try to write more later...

What Dolly Did

Just a note, Dolly hit pretty hard, but nobody in Magnolia hurt. Lots of damage. trees down, awnings off, etc. I have pictures and will post them as soon as I get them developed. Electric has been off all night and a lot of places still without electric. We just got a motel and I got Dale and Vivian laying down. Came home to get some stuff and check the fridge and the electric.was on. Well its paid for might as well stay there the night. Will be back on line tomorrow. Still no phone. Marie

More Dolly

I am a little behind but here is another post from Marie:
Well it is 3:20 and we have winds about 35-40 with gust a little higher. Still not much rain, but looks like more coming. Dolly is starting to break up so do not expect too much damage here in the park. Have not been out to check the park yet, on Cottonwood St there has been no damage at all. Will check the rest of the park when we can get out. Wish I had a camera so I could send some pictures. Will get back to you later. Marie

Hello Dolly!

From Marie Flood:

"An early up date. Here in Magnolia park we have had less than 1/2" of rain and some winds although nothing strong. No trees, electric, or anything else down. Looks like we are going to miss all the heavy stuff. It is sitting in the Gulf playing with us right now. Will try to let you know if any damage after this thing passes." Marie

From the Cooklins

Dale was pulling a boat that had motor
trouble to dock so they could get out of the water. I said while you are
already there try fishing. Good deeds help!

What Kay V. does

Here are two pictures that Kay Voss sent me along with an explanation. Send me an item about what you are doing and I will post it too.
Kay says, "Here we are--(not Jim next to me, but a fella that just stopped to
rest) on the 4th! We were invited again to come to the local Pioneer
Village to show some of our pressure cookers and canned goods. We
took a few of our (14) pressure cookers and a sample of canned foods.
I also included some dried things. New this year was a jar of canned
butter! I read about it on the internet, so had to try it. Turned
out like "canned sunshine"---- and was a big hit with the people. I
have so much butter in the freezer and need the room for other things,
so thought I would give it a try.

There was a lady baking cookies on a wood stove near us, so lots of
traffic going by! It was an interesting day. Hope you all had a fun
day too, Kay"
