Let The Games Begin

Well folks the season is starting with the card games in the little hall. There hasn't been quite enough for some of the games but that has changed some what with a few more people coming in for the season. The activities are starting up with planning the upcoming craft sale on the 7th of next month. ( just around the corner) Don Howard is getting the barbecue planned out and the meat bought.. Looks like it will be a good one.. So if you don't want to miss out on the food and fun come on down and join us early.. HA HA More later...

New Directory

I have been working on the new directory...most of the day, actually. Funny how self-doubt creeps in after you have committed to such a big project. At any rate, I am writing to let you all know that you have been very much on my mind lately. Also I am getting anxious to meet all the new folks waiting in sunny south Texas. 

Labor Day Party at the Park

Well here it is Labor Day and we have our first party at the park for the year....I am sure you wish you were here for it if you weren't.. We had a great time and a lot of good food as usual.. We had 35 party ready people, ready to eat and enjoy being off the road for the holiday.. We want to thank George Lane for supplying the meat for the party and also cooking it for us... Also the ladies brought covered dishes as usual and there was plenty.. HA HA Well a few people are starting to show up for the winter.. I don't want to try to mention any names as I will forget some and leave them out... We do have a few new people that have moved in and we hear of the possibility of a few more coming to stay the winter with us.. It looks like it is going to be a great time for Winter Texans in Magnolia Park this year... So come on down and join us as soon as you can....More later as soon as something new happens... HA HA

Party at the Park!

Today ( Tuesday the 14th) we had a party to honor Simon and Alfredo for working in the park.. They are moving on in their lives and will not be working in the park any longer.. We wish them well for the future. Phyllis composed a Poem for each of the boys and framed it for each of them.. We had pizza and ice cream and cake for lunch.. We had a pretty good crowd for this time of the year and for as hot as it is.. Simon is still going to be mowing lawns in the park for those that are wondering about their yards.. Even as dry as it is the grass still keeps on growing ( I don't know how it does it). Sorry it took so long for me to write something for the blog, but we haven't been back too long and I have just been lazy, course not too much has happened here to report.. That isn't all that bad any way.. I will try to do better... More later......

Hi everyone, got a bit of new info I want to pass along in case you haven't already heard. Alfredo has not returned to work by doctors orders. We have hired Victor Vasquez, a young man in his mid 20's. He has been working well with Simon. Robert Brom #33 passed away on July 21st. Prayers for Janice. Thank you Noreen Ergen for calling me. Fred Seldon was in hospital with heat stroke during their auction but is doing well now. Progresso now has a casino! Called Viva Las Vegas and located in the Progresso Market place. Right now they only have 120 slot machines. Plans for gaming as soon as they can get Mexico permission. Loring's have returned from their great adventure. Haven't heard about it yet.
