Kay S. sent this picture of Wampus. It looks like he has a different opinion of what a birdbath should be used for! Thanks, Kay!
This blogs sole purpose has transitioned to one of keeping in touch with each other. Over the years it has been primarily for letting everyone know what is happening and also for promotion to add more folks to our Winter Texan family. The core of things has changed and we must change along with it. We still want to know what is happening with our friends no matter where they may be located. So continue to let us know where you are and what is on your plate.

Magnolia Birds
I was looking through some of my Magnolia bird photos and found these. Remember how every morning and evening the parrots come squawking through the park. These were taken in the morning last season down in the vicinity of Andrea and Liz's home.

Fall Activity in the Bee Yard
Jim Spangler does not spend his summers shooting pool which is one of the things he likes to do when in Magnolia in the winter. He spends the summer taking care of his colonies of bees and now the season is over. A few days ago he and two other beekeepers shook his bees out of his equipment and into the equipment that they will ride in on their way to California where they will be placed in the almond orchards for pollination purposes. This shows one of the supers open and Jim is getting ready to take the inner cover off to see just what shape the bees are in.
