We arrived home to Minnesota on Monday, the 18th. Good trip, no rain until we drove into the garage! One of the first trips to town, Jim got his baby chicks. So the work has started for the summer. Not that summer has arrived----rain and cold here, we wish we had stayed in Texas another 2 weeks! ha Kay and Jim Voss

Easter Sunday at Magnolia Park

What a beautiful Sunday morning we had to celebrate Easter Sunday....We had around 30 worshipers crowded into the little hall on this great day of resurrection....Pastor Stacey gave a great lesson again this morning with the theme of "God's Promise", teaching from the Book of Acts, chapter 13....The teaching brought forth the fulfillment of God's promise to provide a Saviour for the those that believe and follow the Word of God...This was a great lesson and taught in a different and enlightening way than I have heard before....Read the Chapter for yourself and you will gain wisdom in the word for yourself...We need to always study the Word of God for ourselves to assure that we understand and also learn if we missed some ideas from the teaching...Remember to continue to pray for all that are on the road and for those that are sick...Prayer does miracles through the Lord......GOD BLESS ALL......

Patriotic Emotion

This came from my friend Lum who we met at Snow Mountain Ranch while workamping there. He lives in the New Orleans area. He said that anyone with a patriotic emotion would very much enjoy it. I enjoyed his turn of phrase but then I always do. It is just the kind of guy he is. So if you have a "patriotic emotion" enjoy!

Sunday Service

Well this is the first Sunday that we have had services in the little hall...It was nice to have air-conditioning and to have a nice crowd to enjoy the services.....It was announced this morning that May 1st would be the last service for this season as most of the Magnolia Family will have gone NORTH for the summer and Pastor Stacey had a few trips planned as well....At least that is the plans at this time anyway....
The lesson this morning was taken from the Book of Mark, Chapter 11 with the theme of "Obedience to Christ".....It was taught that we need to be obedient to the word of the Lord even if we don't understand just what it means at the time....In time all things are made clear if we will just listen and learn....There is always a plan in Gods word for our lives if we just pay attention and obey Christ's teaching.....Remember that there are still many on the road to various places and some have some sort of illness or other so continue to pray for any and all that may come to your mind.....GOD BLESS ALL....

We had a great party tonite in the park at McIntyre's....41 people came! We enjoyed great food and conversation. Be sure to have "elastic waistbands" when you come back this fall!! We love to eat down here..........

Decorah Eagles

There are over 33 million hits on the Decorah Iowa Eagles webcam. I posted about it on my personal blog last February but haven't kept up with it. I was reminded about it from Norma Cooklin and thought the rest of you might want to take a peek at them. One of them did a projectile poop while I was watching a bit ago. The last I looked they were snuggled under their parent, not sure whether it is mom or dad, on this cold and blustery Iowa day.

Service at Magnolia

This morning we were going to start having services over at the little hall, but Pastor Stacey told us that Brother Allen that use to play the piano for us some months ago wanted to play for us this morning.....So we just picked up and moved to Allen Hall for services....It's a good thing we did because we had 34 in attendance and that would have rather filled the little hall....We will have services next week over in the little hall as more of the Magnolia Family will be heading NORTH this week for the summer....We were sure blessed with the music as brother Allen played for the song service and then played a special for us.....A great job and we told him that we missed his playing...... Pastor Stacey gave a great lesson again this morning with the continuation of the study of Romans Chapter 12 with the theme of " God's Will for Our Lives"....We need to understand that God has a plan for us and a path for us to follow if we but will obey the teaching of the Bible....And no one ever said that it would be easy to stand up and be counted so to speak.....Remember to continue to pray for all those on the road and those that are suffering with some kind of sickness or other....We need to care for one another when ever we can....

Sad News from the Harpers

Marty emailed me to inform me of the passing of Snoodles. Snoodles made many friends in her short life. Tinkerbell ,the Yorky baby of the Flynts will very much miss Snoodles. They were best buds despite a difference of species. Many park residents of all kinds and sizes will miss Snoodles.

From Erv and Hollie Hagen

I know many of you were concerned about Erv and Hollie since Erv was quite ill before they left to go home so I knew you would be as glad to see this email from them as I was.

" Well we had some wind to deal with but it was dry all the way to Minnesota.  North of Tulsa at a Walmart one night I had to put the jacks down to hold the the RV in the wind over night.  I got well just in time and have had no problems.  We did drive into the evening Wed to finish the day in our driveway.   You guys have a good summer and will see your next December..    bye for now...Erv and Hollie"

From my window

This Green Jay was sighted on Donn & Peggy Gordon's suet feeder last Thursday.

Some serious trimming of tree and bushes also took place at the Gordon residence. It will be interesting to note the growth next fall.

Sunday at Magnolia Park

With all the people talking about leaving and heading up NORTH for the summer, I was sure surprised to see such a nice sized group of worshipers at church this morning...I didn't count them all but I would estimate 40 to 45 in attendance...It's great to see people eager to hear the Word of God being taught...The lesson this morning was a continuation of last weeks lesson from the Book of Romans, Chapter 12 with this weeks theme of "The Body of the Church"....We have learned that through the teaching of Gods Word that we as Christians are the body of the Church and we need to act as such....More scripture was given in the Book of 1st Corinthians, chapter 12, verse 12 to confirm the teaching..A great lesson with much to study........ At the end of the service communion was observed as it was the first service of the month...Also there was breakfast served for all that wished to participate...It was a great time of fellowship and joy...I forgot to add that Pastor Stacey sang a special song for the service which was enjoyed by all...Remember to continue to pray for all that are sick and those that are traveling....There are many of the Magnolia Family that are on the road that a guardian angle watching over them would be nice and appreciated...GOD BLESS ALL......
