Pillowcase dresses

Larry and I returned to Missouri the first part of March, with 135 pillowcases from ROPA.  Several of these pillowcases were donated to me, by our Magnolia family.  Three other ladies and I met once a week to sew these pillowcases into dresses.
To date, we have sewn 58 dresses and sent in December,  with our missionaries,  Bill and Marilyn Fair, of Fair’s Evangelizing Haiti. We now, have 125 more dresses completed and waiting to send, when the Fair's visit our Church. I thought I would share some pictures of the dresses.    Thanks to everyone who donated the pillowcases.

We are heading to Branson this coming week. We will spend 6-8 weeks at Treasure Lake RV resort. Larry enjoys carving with some of the "winter Texans".  Me.. I enjoy all the thrift shops in the area.

From Kay Voss

I finally got our granddaughter's upstairs spare bedroom finished! We removed a double window and replaced it with a small window. Of course I couldn't get the touchup paint to match--so I painted one wall with a farm scene. Breanna loved it! Also made a "rag bedspread". The painting took a good week, Jim kept suggesting and correcting....ha It is different for sure. It was hard to get good pictures, but you can get the idea.
Kay

From Barb: If any of you have anything you would like to share with your fellow Magnolia friends please send it to me and I will be glad to post it for you. We like to know what you are all doing!
I think Kay's tree is smiling!

The Hannewalds

Just a note to thank you all for the many expressions of sympathy for my Mom, Dorothy. It was a shock for us....even though she had been sick. We are now in the process of finding an assisted living home for Dad. They loved their Magnolia family so much.....and the cards and calls meant a lot to all of us ! I will keep you updated on Dad. Have you noticed?

At the bottom of this blog and all the others I take care of is a place to insert your email address and when you do so you will then receive updates in your email. It does make it handy for people who forget to stop by for a look.

Goodbye iGoogle

iGoogle is going to quit. They are going to give us about a year before they do but I have started my search for a replacement and I have found one!!  It is called www.protopage.com . It has taken me a bit to get used to it and I have had to find a work-around or two but the more I use it the better I like it. I hate to think how many people I have helped set up their iGoogle page. So the good news is that we can get our Proto pages to look, act and feel like what we are used to and we will have plenty of time to do this.
If you have any questions about this, email me.
This only applies to people who are using iGoogle for their home page. Google is not going away, just iGoogle.

JoAnn Cross Obit

From Barb: In order to get JoAnn's obituary on the blog lets just say it took some faniggling  so in order to see it in a size to read it you will need to click on it in two parts. I am trying to get the obituaries on the blog not only so they can be read but to make things easier for our Memorial Committee whose job this year is going to be record setting. We are only half way on the year.

I just got word that Dorothy passed away yesterday.  She and her daughter were

From Marie Flood about 4th of July party

We had a couple in that played and sang for our 4th party.  They were really good.  Fred had a great time dancing with Lulu.  That is also the name they play under.
Norm enjoyed a dance as well.  All us girls got up for the last dance.  We had a great time and more food than we could eat, so we are having another dinner
tomorrow night.  Maybe some more dancing.

Voss Quilt Block

We finally finished the main quilt block.  It covers the huge empty
space that had a outside door before we put up new siding.  Quite a
job to get it finished.

Note: Looks very nice! I have a spot where one would look great if you are of a mind to take it on. hehehe.

Remember the Kaleidoscope when we were kids?

This is really incredible!

How amazing that someone could not only create this, but make it to change when you move your mouse/cursor...or you can just sit back and let it change by itself.  Either way it is awesome!!! Very nice.........and pure genius!

ALSO, IF YOU PUT YOUR CURSOR RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE, IT IS TRULY AMAZING.

Be sure to run your mouse over the screen slowly.
