Link of the Day:

Link of the Day:

USGS - Hawaii Volcano Observatory (HVO) - Kilauea

Kilauea is an active volcano on the Big Island of Hawai'i. This USGS
(United States Geological Survey) maintained web site is updated
frequently to show ongoing volcanic activity. Some utterly amazing
photos. Most recent photos and captions at top of page. Click on each
photo to enlarge it. Captions below photos explain what you're seeing.
You can see additional photos in the Archive section, near top of page.

If you are reluctant to click on a link in an e-mail (and you should
be!), simply Google USGS HVO Kilauea. This site should top the list.
Alternately, you can type the URL content above into your browser's
location window.

If you have a dial-up connection, the page takes a L-O-N-G time to load.
But it's worth the wait; the photos are spectacular. Start the page and
go do something for a while. (Cook dinner?) For any photo that doesn't
load, right click where the photo should be and select 'Reload image'
from the pop-up menu. I had to do this for about half the page.
