From Bernice Pratt and Phyllis N.

I just received this email from Phyllis (Neudorf(sp?)) and know she would appreciate our prayers:

Hi Bernice, I have been very sick and just got out of the hospital after a ten day stay. Jenny took me to the ER with severe chills and shaking and aching. At first their tests showed I had a urinary tract infection so they put me in a room and started IVs. Later in the night as more of the test results came in they found that what I had was blood sepsis, and it very nearly killed me. My kidneys began closing down and the infection spread all through my body. Lots of days a blur with one thing standing out in my mind. Every 12 hours they had to shoot some medicine right into my stomach. One morning the shot gave me a reaction and again I nearly died. Obviously I didn't, but I am still very sick and had to cancel all my volunteer work and just have bed rest until further notice. I got up and googled Blood Sepsis and I can see how sick I really was! Gotta go and lie down now. Would you pass this on to my friends please? Thanks. Love you, Phyllis

From Judy Jensen

Hi Barb--Hope you are having a good summer/fall. Can't believe it is almost Sept. The Cleavelands stopped by on their way home from Canada. Aren't they a happy looking group? Had a good visit and the next day we went to Reva's funeral. Then they went back to Iowa. See you in Nov. Judy J

I must say they are all looking fine!!

Joe and Lucy Urias Place

The wind in the last few days has blown some of the awnings that were damaged around some, so the appearance is some what different than after the storm....It just takes time to get the work done and there are so many small jobs to be done that usually get done first so this is to be expected...The weather hasn't been cooperating the last few days as it has been so humid and warm, so people just are moving a little slow.. HA HA..... Well more later....

Just Peachy

We went on our annual peach picking venture to Arkansas again this year. Picked 1206 pounds in 4 hours again. Sold all that we wanted (saved some for ME) and still have people calling about them! They were really good, some were 12 inches in diameter, and weighed 1 pound! Big fruit this year. I canned, made jam, made syrup, froze pies and saved some in refrig for eating.

Take care, Kay

Pictures of the Park

Well here is the last of the pictures that I am going to put on the blog of the storm... I have quite a few more but they are mostly of the same kind that I have already put on..... Most of the brush has been cleaned up and there is a huge pile of it across the road where they have been stacking it.....A lot of skirting and window awning were damaged or blown down or loose..... Some of the aluminum strips on the skirting were blown loose....I didn't put pictures of each of them as there were quite a few....I would say that all in all we came out better than some of the other parks... Some of them had mobile homes completely destroyed....There is nothing done here that a little time and a few dollars won't fix as good as it ever was......Thank God nobody was hurt or killed, so we can count our blessings....

Park News

At least I can report some good news for a change as we had Tuesday morning coffee and donuts this morning....There were 22 folks who were interested in socializing and drinking coffee with one another...It was good to see the folks get together and laugh and talk....I am sorry about some of the pictures I put on the blog yesterday...Some how they didn't show up later on in the evening, so when I checked this morning and saw they weren't on, I replaced them again....I also added a couple to the number.... I plan on putting a few more on tomorrow so keep checking in...It seems as if things are some what settling down to normal and it is about time... We have had all the excitement of bad weather we need....More later..

Pictures of Damage in the Park

I got a cd of pictures from Nita that she took after the storm..... She didn't have any way to put them up for people to see so she gave them to me... I won't put all of them up as there are too many for one time.....I plan to put up several every few days or so to have them viewable in one download... I put up a lot of ones about the tree damage cause I wanted to keep them together...We need to thank Nita for sharing the pictures when you call or when you get down here this fall.... Will post more later....
