Ropa Rosie on Rose Street

For the uninitiated: Ropa Usada in Spanish means used clothing and many of our adventurous group make a habit of going to the Ropa Usada places sprinkled throughout the valley and look through the mountains of ropa usada for mucho bargains. The prices vary but is often in the 10 - 20 cents a pound range. You can bag a lot of treasures for a dollar or two.
The fine lady above decked out in her found finery is on Rose street so look for her next time you are out and about.

Ray with his laptop

I thought there may be others who would find Rays setup with his laptop interesting and know someone who would appreciate knowing about it. I have asked him for details and I am sure he will get back to me.

Laptop Stand

This is from friend Ray Thompson:
"I purchased a gadget awhile back that I can use with the Laptop while sitting in an easy chair or lying in bed to keep the weight of the Laptop off of me. The Laptop only weighs about 5 pounds, but that gets heavy over time."

Son Gary of Lee's Summit MO sent me this link to local SNOWART. We have nothing better to do since it is raining here and has been ALL day than look at some very creative snow art that folks have created around the KC MO area. So enjoy! I did. Click on SNOWART and away you should go to the link. If things do not happen as they should please let me know.

The pages of the new park directory are back from the printer. Now they will be put together and stapled. Bring your money with you next Tuesday morning at Coffee so you can purchase a copy or two.
On this same subject I will be once again taking pictures for next years directory. Some of the pictures used in this one are two or more years old already. Time Flies!!

Today's project was a cross made from beads. The finished project looked very crystal like.

Crafts Monday @ 1:00

Monday is for crafts in Allen Hall. The project of the week is mentioned at Coffee hour on Tuesday so you can plan ahead if it is of interest to you. But even if you do not have an interest in the project of the week you can bring your own project or come for the social part and see what others are working on. Corner Talk

The sun did shine on Sunday and most people came outside and went for a walk,
gathered on street corners for conversation and in other ways thoroughly
enjoyed our respite from dark, damp and dreary.

Whine, Whine, Whine

Today for the first time in nearly two weeks the sun shone and the temperature rose. It seems there is a winter weather lottery for Florida,Texas and Arizona and Florida wins this year. We were the winners last year.
Our weather has been cool and damp...and we do not like it. Yes it is better than what's up north but it is far from what we are used to enjoying.
The plus side of it is that I have been working on getting the directory for the park done with pictures and it is taking more time than I counted on. With the weather being icky staying indoors and working on it has not been much of a hardship. So I have been less torn. But now...I am all but finished with the directory and ready to move on to other things.

Deeply Freezing...

For all of us down here that are used to having the windows open , folks visiting on every street corner, outdoor activities of swimming, shuffleboard, golf, and horseshoes this weather is a big shock to our systems. I think the high temp today was 45 and the low was 33 or 34 last night . I only ventured out one time and I wore my winter coat, gloves and cap. My frog planter with my lemon thyme plant is stuck under the motorhome in the hopes that Jack Frost will leave it alone.

The Jam was jammin'!!

We are sharing the deep freeze with the rest of the country so it was a good day to enjoy the jam in Allen Hall on Tuesday.

Below Charlie and Edna are ready for that toe tappin' music.
