This morning Nita called me and said the she had a beautiful Magnolia Flower and wondered if I wanted to take a picture of it and show it to you.. I said that I would be happy to. We put it on some nice fabric to show it off and I think it turned out well.. For those of you that haven't ever seen a Magnolia Flower, they are gorgeous....

I have to laugh at myself

I have to laugh at myself and apologize for the Multiple pictures.. I told you it would be a learning process for me.. Well the tree trimmers are gone from the park for now at least.. At one time there were three trucks in the park all cutting branches from the power lines at the same time. The lines are clear now but the trees are looking a little sad in places, but I guess they will grow out of it..
A tight fit for sure!
They sure know how to get between homes! Posted by Hello

Tree trimming

Just thought everyone should know that the tree trimmers are in the park clearing limbs from along the electric lines so the wind won't cause the lines to break from falling branches. They have been as busy as beavers and the limbs are being eaten up by the shredder and hauled off. Will try to put some pictures on to show some of it.

Last breakfast for the season

Well we just had our last breakfast for the season this morning in Allen Hall and it was just great.. It was also kind of sad because we won't have another till next fall.. We need to thank all the volunteers that have cooked the breakfast meals that we have enjoyed the last season.. Floyd Foote and I counted 38 at the feed this morning.. Some more of our residents left the Park this morning after the breakfast to go up into cold country and the streets are not a crowded as they were for sure.. We wish every one a safe journey and a happy summer, but hurry back to see us in the Park this fall.. Don

Butch and I are leaving Saturday. I heard him tell Bob and Gerry last night. Bob and Gerry left this morning. There were three beautiful roses on our doorstep this morning. I think the Bob and Gerry fairy left them there. I will miss our shuffleboard tournaments every evening...But I won't miss getting soundly stomped! I am hoping the buds on the Magnolia tree are open by then but it doesn't seem to be making much progress.
There is so much going on in the park today a person doesn't know which way to turn!
Lots of tree work being done in the park...now if they would get started on those pull throughs...!
The mobile that Herb and Pat bought on Pecos is now gone. They moved it out this morning.

I do not know what kind of flower this is but it certainly is spectacular.

We had breakfast in Allen Hall this morning and there will be one next week too but most of the activities have ceased for the season.
I filled in to make a 4th for bridge yesterday and I had the opportunity to bid and make a grand slam with 7 clubs. This is something that does not happen very often. It made my afternoon!

Curbside chats still take place but they are rarer these days.
Olive Tree Blossom
Eula's Magnolia tree is close to blooming
I have created a mess for myself and therefore can't post pictures until I get it figured out so hang in there with me.
We are looking forward to the eclipse today. We should have a clear view and it will be a 40 percenter.

US Passport

Last night on the news we were informed that beginning in 2008 everyone would need a passport to ENTER the United States at all points along the border including Progreso.

Along about January 1, 2008 it could get real messy at the border with US citizens piling up in Progreso like cordwood.
Smile!

Here is a site where you can find out where to get a passport. http://iafdb.travel.state.gov/
